About Archbishop Tenison's School in the local community

Tenison Boys Helping To Improve Our Local Community

Boys and staff from our school have been involved in "The Big Tidy Up". This is an initiative run as part of the Keep Britain Tidy campaign. With litter being a major issue for many schools across the country, registering our school for the Big Tidy Up is an ideal way to teach young people about the problem of litter in their local environment. Getting involved in a tidy up gives our young people the opportunity to become part of their local community. Our boys and staff have been helping to tidy up the local streets near our school. Not only will they be making a positive contribution to their local area but they can also be learning at the same time.

Life-saving Charity, ACLT in school to promote their work

On Friday 28th Jan from 2pm onwards there was a visit from the ACLT a charity which promotes blood and bone marrow donation. The talk was aimed at our 6th form but parents and carers were invited to join us and learn about the life-saving work that this organisation does. If you would like to know more about this charity and its life-saving work go to http://www.aclt.org.

The 6th form students will be involved in fund-raising activities as this charity desperately needs to find £80,000 before the end of March. One teacher will be making a collection at a concert at Brixton Academy. There are also collections taking place at Waterloo and Victoria stations the week commencing 21st February. Anyone who is over 18 (for legal reasons) and would like to help with this important work should contact David Bromfield on bromfield.d1@ats.lambeth.sch.uk

The Choir

The school now has a choir which is growing from strength to strength. Our boys are developing and this is demonstrated in the excellent performances they have done. The choir have performed not only in school, but have also taken part in public events at various locations including the Oasis Academy, Shirley.
